Sony Xperia 1 II Brief Review

Sony Xperia 1 II Brief Review – Malaysia is no longer seen as Xperia’s main market for the past two years due to the restructuring of Sony’s mobile phone business. As a result Xperia fans have to import the device they want to own or wait for the official launch to be done late.

Sony Xperia 1 II was announced last February but only started to be marketed in Malaysia last November at a price of RM4999. With 2020 drawing to a close, the question of whether the nine -month wait for the Xperia 1 II is worth it needs to be answered immediately. We don’t want to produce surprises and the sincere answer is no at all. Why not? Read this review for the answer.

The Xperia design 1 year ago was recycled for the second year. Once again Sony feels that a device with a 21: 9 screen is the most suitable design for 2020. Among the reasons given is that more; and more video content can be streamed at this ratio as well; as making it easier for two applications to be launched simultaneously through the Multi-Window feature.

Launching

Because it was launched in February, it still only uses the Snapdragon 865. In Malaysia only models with 8GB of RAM memory and 256 GB of storage are offered. This is not at all amazing for a flagship device that now already comes with 16GB of RAM. The storage offered is also a bit disappointing but no need to worry; as micro SD card support up to 1TB can be used if it is not enough.

The main camera matches a 12+12+12+0.3 MP sensor arranged vertically on the back of the device. The camera hump is not too high but can still make the device tip over when placed on a table. Supported lens systems are wide -angle, ultra -wide -angle, 3X optical telephoto and ToF depth detector.

Meanwhile, the front camera is 8MP. With this lens combination, the device is capable of recording video up to 4K 120p resolution after being updated to Android 11 which was just received this week.
